Adorable otters and tasty brews; it's like a match made in heaven. In 2015 we found ourselves frequenting a newly opened brewery in downtown Tacoma called Odd Otter. It was an adorably quirky place that had so many unique beers to try. I was finally able to find inspiration from the Odd Otter after a lengthy artist block.
If you want to see the Otter paintings in person you can always see them in Tacoma at Odd Otter
If you are interested in a canvas print of one the Otter paintings you can order them from The Otter Shop.See the Odd Otter Gallery
The theme and menu at Cooks Tavern is, as they describe, "ever changing globe trotting". To compliment the chosen theme and rotating menus they have partnered up with local artists. Cooks provides the artist with a canvas and the artists do what they do best - create the art. The finished canvases will then hang in the restaurant for the duration of the menu for the dinners viewing pleasure. I was so lucky to be initially accepted into the "New Orleans" rotation which has led me to also contribute to the "Argentina" & "Cuba" menus. It has been awesome to have an opportunity to create something new and in a style or subject I might not normally think to try. Some subjects have been more inspiring than others but I have absolutely loved working on these.See the Cook's Tavern Gallery
I love all things animals and find it a joy to paint them. Painting pet portraits is especially rewarding. There is something so special about having a pet in your life that to be given the opportunity to capture their likeness for their humans to enjoy makes my heart happy.
